Desert vs Dessert

One little S turns a dry wasteland into something delicious.

  • DESERT (one S) — a dry, sandy place (the Sahara). Also a verb: to abandon. Don't desert me in the desert.
  • DESSERT (two S's) — the sweet course after a meal: cake, ice cream, and so on.

Quick tip: dessert has two S's because you always want a Second Serving.
